Nikon D3500 to be Announced This Summer?

The latest rumor suggests Nikon is planning to announce the new Nikon D3500 DX format DSLR camera to replace the current D3400 model. The exact announcement date is still unknown, but it is expected to be in the next several months (this Summer?), probably before Photokina 2018.

Nikon has registered a camera with the code name “N1718”, which carries only Bluetooth but no Wi-Fi installed (the same radio parts as D3400). So it is highly likely that this Nikon “N1718” will be the next entry level DSLR camera: Nikon D3500.

Below are our thoughts and expectations for the Nikon D3500 camera:

  • 24.2MP DX-Format CMOS Sensor (the same as Nikon D3400)
  • EXPEED 5 Image Processor
  • Native ISO 100-51200
  • Full HD 1080p Video Recording at 60 fps
  • SnapBridge Bluetooth Connectivity
  • No Wi-Fi
  • The same body design as D3400
  • Price around $500
