It is now confirmed that Nikon will announce the new NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR PF S Lens on April 6th at 1 am EDT (5 am GMT).

  • Official announcement: April 6th
  • Shipment is scheduled for May
  • Professional level lens with stunning performance
  • Optical performance is equivalent to the F mount AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR lens
  • Price: around $6,000 (check the pricing info at B&H)
  • Weight: 2.3 kg  (half the weight of the F-mount version)
  • This lens is already in mass production

The price was initially rumored to be $ 17,000, but I would like to pay attention to whether the subsequent rumor of $ 6,000 is correct. If it’s really $ 6000, it’s going to be a pretty popular lens.
