Nikon D6 Coming in Q2 of 2019 with CF Express Memory Card Slot?

Nikon is rumored to announce a new camera with CF Express memory card (or cards) in the second quarter of 2019. Currently, it is not clear whether the new camera will be mirrorless camera or DSLR camera – the mostly likely candidate is the long awaited Nikon D6 DSLR camera.

We already reported that the Nikon D6 flagship DSLR camera is currently in development, which is expected to arrive in early 2019. However the Nikon company is currently focusing on full frame mirrorless system and they postponed this announcement. So, this new camera with CF Express memory card could be the Nikon D6 DSLR…Meantime if Nikon D6 remains the showcase camera for the 2020 Olympics, the release date would be the late 2019.

CF Express memory cards are much faster than the other kind of memory cards, max read speed up to 1,400 MB/s. And the new CF Express card firmware update for the Nikon Z6 & Z7 mirrorless cameras is also expected to be released in Q2 of 2019.

More details will be revealed in the next several months.
