Nikon NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S Lens Weighs 2.3kg and Costs $6,000?
Nikon Rumors has some additional information about the Nikon’s super-telephoto lens “NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR PF S“:
- Official announcement: April 4th or April 6th (±1 day)
- Shipment is scheduled for May
- Professional level lens with stunning performance
- Optical performance is equivalent to the F mount AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR lens
- Price: around $6,000 based on a leak from China (check the pricing info at B&H)
- Weight: 2.3 kg (half the weight of the F-mount version)
- This lens is already in mass production
Earlier rumors said the price of this lens was $17,000 to $18,000, but if this rumored ($6,000) is true, it is a bit incredible. The NIKKOR Z 800mm f/6.3 VR S may be a fairly popular lens, as the optical performance is said to be comparable to the F-mount AF-S NIKKOR 800mm f/5.6E FL ED VR lens.
